Services

Specialist mentoring services with clear outcomes and boundaries

Fly High Mentoring offers specialist mentoring support focused on access to study, practical strategies, and student independence.

Service scope

What Fly High Mentoring can provide

Each service area explains the practical purpose of mentoring without overstating what non-medical support can do.

Specialist Mental Health Mentoring

Structured, non-medical mentoring for higher education students whose mental health difficulties create barriers to study.

Outcome: Students work on practical strategies for workload, routines, engagement, prioritisation, communication, and independence.

DSA/NMH availability checks

Availability and capacity conversations for DSA/NMH support, based on the student's approved recommendation, remote delivery needs, hours, and start date.

Outcome: Students and professionals receive clear information before arranging support.

Private mentoring enquiries

Remote, private mentoring conversations based on the student's study-related barriers, preferred timeframe, and practical support needs.

Outcome: Students and supporters understand the route, fees, and boundaries before deciding whether to proceed.

Support planning

Practical plans focused on access to study, learning routines, communication, confidence, and independence.

Outcome: Students know what sessions are for, what will be reviewed, and what falls outside mentoring.

Progress reviews

Structured reviews of goals, attendance, remaining hours, engagement, and any change in support needs.

Outcome: Support remains purposeful without promising academic, funding, or health outcomes.

University and professional liaison

Communication with university teams or assessment professionals within consent, confidentiality, safeguarding, and role boundaries.

Outcome: Students are supported to communicate clearly while retaining ownership of their study decisions.

DSA/NMH and private support

Clear support arrangements, agreed before sessions begin

Fly High Mentoring is a DSA/NMH supplier. DSA/NMH support is considered in line with the student's approved recommendation, funding arrangements, remote-delivery needs, and capacity.

Private, remote mentoring is also available at £30 per hour and invoiced after completed work. Costs, scope, consent, policies, and expectations are agreed before support starts.

Support planning

Support planning clarifies goals, boundaries, session focus, review points, and practical next steps.

Progress reviews

Progress reviews help keep support purposeful without making guaranteed outcome claims.

Professional liaison

University liaison is handled within consent, confidentiality, safeguarding, and role boundaries.

Independent provider position

Fly High Mentoring is an independent sole-trader practice. It is not part of Student Finance England, SLC, DfE, or any university.
